The Power of 11 Mastermind Group. The cat is starting to get out of the proverbial bag.
As only a few people know, I have been both a participant and organizer of a few special Mastermind Groups. And as both a participant and organizer, I firmly believe this has been the single best tool to help me shape and manage my corporate business, my personal business and my overall career, not to mention uncover new, high-level relationships and a few Board of Director roles. But even as a few of you know of my experience herein, I need to say more about what a Mastermind Group is exactly.
The concept goes back thousands of years. In fact, in the 1800’s one individual put groups together in various cities, traveling to each to facilitate. His groups were called “skull groups” and when these groups met, they called these meetings “skull sessions”. That term still exists because skull groups still exist. So the concept pre-dated Napoleon Hill’s “Think & Grow Rich”, a book which effectively describes the power of the mastermind.
The reality for each of us, when it comes to our business or career, is that we are all “blind” on certain things about our businesses and ourselves – including our unique strengths. Masterminding helps to eliminate your blind spots so that you can leap ahead with clarity and confidence in whatever you choose to do next.
Who is best able to see our blind spots? Smart, able, like-minded colleagues whom you trust, and respectively have a track record of amazing personal and career success. That is why I have both attended and led groups of this nature – to eliminate my own blind spots in an effort to constantly achieve my capabilities in complete confidentiality while able to speak candidly in an environment with no competitors and no bosses.
I get asked often about my own success, and the dynamic nature of the path I’ve carved for myself. The beauty of all my success and anyone else’s success, as I see it, is that there doesn’t have to be an end game to it. In other words, I’m motivated every single day to keep expanding my success, whether personally or professionally, and that is how I live. It all started as a teenager when I was a three-time scholastic All-American in tennis and the number one ranked doubles player in the United States at age 17. From that point, my professional road took a few twists and turns; from world-ranked tennis professional, to marathon runner, to marketing professional, to e-commerce innovator, to Executive at Playboy Enterprises, to C-level executive at a major interactive marketing company to published author.
The truth is that I’m constantly in search of improving, and the single tool I use to improve comes through the power of the mastermind. It’s true.
This is why I’m expanding my own mastermind group to something called “The Power of 11”. I believe I’ve come across a unique mastermind formula based on everything I’ve learned and based on being around some of the best and smartest people in business for well over a decade. The feedback I got from past masterminds (Series I & II) was so strong, that it was time to expand Series III to another small, private, exclusive group of people.
What do you get when you put 11 of the most successful entrepreneurs, executives and business minds in one room for a day and a half? Based on my own experience, you get a laundry list of ways to improve what You are doing and how to do it. You get ways to transform your business and career with money-making tips from some of the world’s elite professionals. You learn how to market yourself better. You network in complete confidentiality and can speak candidly in an environment with no competitors and no bosses. This is important: “The Power of 11” is not a place where you will be amongst people you compete with or who see you every day; they are new contacts and are the highest caliber of people that I know.
A lot of us have gone through brainstorming sessions before at work or amongst colleagues. What happens? A lot of talk and very few really relevant action items, that’s what.
A lot of you have never gone through my mastermind group. What happens? A lot of talk and sharing with colleagues outside your normal day-to-day comfort zone, a huge list of ideas which are very relevant and actionable, and ultimately a specific roadmap that leads you to making more money, growing your business and boosting your career.
A routine brainstorming session this is not.
